เต่าเรือน ลักษณะโดยทั่วไปของพญาเต่าเรือน จะมีลักษณะเป็นรูปเต่า มี 4 ขา ปลายหัวด้านบนจะมีหูติดลักษณะเดียวกับหูเหรียญ ส่วนรายละเอียดในตัวจะมีความแตกต่างกันไปตามรุ่น ซึ่งแต่ละรุ่นไม่เหมือนกัน โดยท่านได้บอกถึงเหตุผลในการสร้างว่า "ต้องการทำวัตถุมงคลให้แปลกและดี จึงนึกถึง เต่า เพราะว่าเต่าเป็นสัตว์ที่มีอายุยืนยาว เต่าเป็นสัตว์มีศีลธรรม นอกจากนี้พระพุทธเจ้ายังเคยเสวยพระชาติเป็นเต่ามาแล้ว พญาเต่าเรือนของหลวงปู่หลิว วัดไร่แตงทอง โดดเด่นด้านทำมาค้าขายโชคลาภ เมตตามหานิยม เงินทองไม่ขาดมือ เป็นที่เลื่องลือและยอดนิยมมาจนทุกวันนี้ ให้ตั้งนะโม 3 จบ นะมะพะทะ นาสังสิโม สังสิโมนา สิโมนาสัง โมนาสังสิ นะอุทะกะ เมมะอะอุ แล้วตั้งจิตอธิษฐานขอพระบารมีพระพุทธเจ้าเมื่อครั้งที่เสวยพระชาติเป็นพญา เต่าเรือน ให้ช่วยพ้นภัยอันตรายที่ประสบอยู่ สำหรับตัวคาถา 4 ตัวคือ นาสังสิโม นั้นท่านว่าเป็นหัวใจของพญาเต่าเรือน ประวัติหลวงปู่หลิว แบบย่อๆ หลวงปู่หลิวปณฺณโก นามเดิม หลิว แซ่ตั้ง บุตรคุณพ่อเต่งแซ่ตั้งคุณแม่น้อยแซ่ตั้ง อาชีพทำไร่ทำนาเกิดวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 7 ธันวาคมพ.ศ.2448 ขึ้น 11 ค่ำ เดือนอ้าย (ปีมะเส็ง)ณ หมู่บ้านหนองอ้อตำบลบ้านสิงห์อำเภอโพธารามจังหวัดราชบุรีพี่น้องร่วมบิดามารดาทั้งสิ้น 9 คนชาย 5 คน หญิง 4 คนสมรสนางหยดมีบุตรชาย 1 คน ชื่อนายกายนามถาวรอุปสมบท อายุ 27 ปี ณ พัทธสีมาพระอุโบสถ วัดโบสถ์ ตำบลบ้านเลือกอำเภอโพธาราม จังหวัดราชบุรี (ประมาณเดือน 7 ก่อนเข้าพรรษา พ.ศ. 2475 ปีวอก)หลวงพ่อโพธาภิรมย์ แห่งวัดบำรุงเมือง เป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์หลวงพ่ออินทร์ วัดโบสถ์ เป็นพระกรรมวาจาจารย์ และมีพระอาจารย์ห่อ วัดโบสถ์เป็นพระอนุสาวนาจารย์ ได้รับฉายาจากพระอุปัชฌาย์ว่า “ปณฺณโก” อ่านว่า “ปัน-นะ-โก” เมื่ออุปสมบทแล้วหลวงปู่หลิว ได้มาจำพรรษา ณ วัดหนองอ้อหลังจากนั้นท่านได้ไปเรียนวิชาอาคม จากอาจารย์หม่ง ชาวกระเหรี่ยง, หลวงพ่อแดง วัดเขาบันไดอิฐ จังหวัดเพชรบุรี, หลวงพ่อคล้าย วัดสวนขันจังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช, หลวงพ่ออุ้ม จังหวัดนครสวรรค์ และคณาจารย์อีกหลาย ๆท่าน ทั้งที่เป็นภิกษุ และฆราวาสหลวงปู่หลิว ท่านเป็นพระที่ไม่หยุดนิ่ง ท่านได้ไปจำพรรษา และบูรณะปฏิสังขรณ์ ยังวัดต่าง ๆ ดังนี้ คือวัดโศก จังหวัดสุพรรณบุรีวัดท่าเสา, วัดสนามแย้, วัดไทรทองพัฒนาจังหวัดกาญจนบุรี วัดไร่แตงทอง อำเภอกำแพงแสน จังหวัดนครปฐมวัดหนองอ้อ อำเภอโพธาราม จังหวัดราชบุรีสำนักสงฆ์ประชาสามัคคี ตำบลบ้านฆ้องน้อย อำเภอบ้านโป่ง จังหวัดราชบุรีหลวงปู่หลิวได้กลับมาจำพรรษา ณ วัดหนองอ้อ อีกครั้งหนึ่ง เมื่อวันที่ 15 ธันวาคม พ.ศ.2540 จนท่านละสังขารด้วยโรคชรา เมื่อวันจันทร์ที่ 4 กันยายนพ.ศ.2543 เวลา 20.35 น. รวมอายุ 95 ปี 74 พรรษา
